Mallory 2010.. a reflection….

Well a few days have passed since the mania that was Mallory.. You sometimes think later “did that really all happen?”.. Overall the day went well..I’m fairly pleased with my riding as I havent been on two wheels since last September. The track temperature was low and with the high wind strength this affected the usually flat out Gerrads resulting in a lower lap time for everybody when compared to last year..but there are certainly areas that need improving. The way I drive out of corners needs addressing.. Now mainly this is me not opening the throttle but the seat of my pants says that I’m on the limit already. Some of the problem is the amount of power the bike can put down coupled with a short wheelbase (its shorter than the Zip SP!) and me not exactly weighing a lot to keep it down. As you will see in the video this is the problem I face. The clutch fails after lap two.. you’ll hear it slip as I change into 4th in the Esses after the Guy Topper overtake and by lap 5 it has completely gone.. so this will be looked at again.. Charlie has some new ideas and hopefully we can get a clutch to last  more than one and a half races! Also as mentioned before the power delivery was aggressive.. again fairly easy to sort once I get the Hornet up to the PT Works 🙂

Hope you like the video… we’ll make sure it doesnt move next time as its a bit wonky.. but you can see how lively the front end is on a 32hp smallframe and how the bike handles..
