Brakes!
Finally I get on with the bike.. after Donny work has taken over but I have the bike back now and so onwards….
The brake was failing after 3 laps at Donington… waiting in the wings was the larger billet caliper from Sip.
That pic is the caliper just bolted on… the real issue was bleeding and getting it to clear the Polini floating disc and centralisation of the rotor.
So… off to the PT Works for some Dr Octopus style hydraulic bleeding. I removed the remote system and simply stuck on Charley’s workshop bench.. ” fix it please” and within 5 minutes its done and we are sat drinking tea ๐
The real problem was clearance. So … back home I am all keen… but the caliper is tounching the bobbins on the disc first of all … and then I notice that its ‘center’ is different to the piaggio caliper.. (well it is on my one anyway). So… many modifications later its all ‘true’ and only needs to be bedded in.
so all good….. next thing to do is the rear shock that overheated… I will keep you posted… ๐
Pre-Pembrey prep
Charley has had the bike for a few days… the motor due to carburation changes had lost nearly 7hp at peak and masses of midrange. My concern now is thatย the clutch will not hang onto this. We will see….
Thanks to Mr Edmonds on giving the motor back its full potential. Its down to me now to make it work at Pembrey…. race report to follow…
UPDATE: The bike has gone but I am ill in bed! Next race Donington in 4 weeks. ๐
