Paid a visit to my friend and now sponsor Norrie Kerr, MD and owner of VE Uk  yesterday.

My plan was to steal Norrie’s legendary Lc1 90SS Vespa on the pretence of a friendly visit and some cups of tea 🙂 …. sadly I didnt quite manage it as it wouldnt quite fit in my car..

Great to see him and some plans drawn up which will help me race next year with VE Uk support. Next season is looking good as my work commitments won’t affect racing as much and its great to have someone providing a platform for me who understands on what basis I have to race.

I first met Norrie back in 1986 when he tuned my road engine and converted it to one of his Autisa/Kawasaki conversions.. I still have the barrel. Racing interest followed and soon I was racing against the man himself. (see here as to my debut experience!!) They were great times in scooter racing and I’m honoured to have raced against such a legend and such a good friend. During my ‘newcomer’ year I even ended up riding one of Norrie’s machines as mine had failed in the practise session such is the kindness of the man.

Thanks for the day Norrie..and here’s to next year and onwards.

Arrived today… The new clutch center from Lauro Caforio at Falc Racing.

Machined from billet steel, hardened and drilled for lightness. This unit partners Falc’s clutch unit and replaces the Vespa Xl2 type clutch center.

I will be testing as soon as the motor is rebuilt and suspension modifications completed. Sadly it appears that my next outing will be at the end of September but you cant rush development at the end of the day. 🙂

Also arrived today again from Lauro is the new Falc clutch basket, cush system and center pressure plate… neat eh!
