Ready…..
Well its been a marathon task to get the Hornet prepped for Cadwell. And even so Charley isnt happy with the motor and it will be out again straight after for more work. It runs tho and sounds great as ever. Thanks to my sponsors VE Uk and Putoline for extra help and of course Charley at Performance Tuning for burning the midnight oil to get me to this stage. Without his help I would not be going anywhere!
Update 30/08/10
Well its been frantic work trying to prep the bike for Pembrey Park race day next weekend. VE Uk have sponsored me two Rs24 Paioli/Malossi shock absorbers whilst my new Rs24/10 is being modified. The rear shock was in bad need of a rebuild and so thanks to Norrie Kerr at Ve for his kind help.
I spent some time fitting up the new front. Several modifications were needed though as these shocks are designed for the Piaggio Zip Sp. Also another spanner thrown into the works was because the new Rs24 have been redesigned slightly and so some tweaks were needed to get the bike to sit right and not too high. All this is sorted now and the shock absorbers are all fitted.
However the motor is still needing to be built and quite simply there isnt time for the build and proper testing of the new clutch setup this week..
My apologies to my sponsors but this situation is unavoidable I’m afraid.
I intend to have the bike up and running within two weeks and a test day arranged maybe at Mallory Park.
